And Happy New Year. How can it be 2022? I know I am not the only one who feels like one minute it was 2018, then we disappeared down some vortex where time was simultaneously sped up and slowed down (if that’s even possible) and it’s suddenly 2022.
To say it’s been a strange, difficult time is obviously an understatement (not to mention an obvious one) I am just so happy and grateful to be starting this new year with exciting things ahead. I’ve got a new book out – finally! How To Find Your Way Home was actually started before the pandemic, but is perhaps aptly entitled to reflect the national consciousness right now. I sure know I’ve felt like I’ve lost my way at points during the past couple of years!
It took me an age to write, for various reasons, a global pandemic included, but It’s also my most ambitious novel, in that it’s the least autobiographical – being about a homeless birdwatcher 🧐. Because of this, it was very research heavy and also, a much bigger stretch of my imagination! They’re my excuses anyway.
I won’t say much more, because my American publishers made me the most glorious book-club kit (link here) which says it all and with beautiful graphics. Included in this, is everything from why I wrote the book, to discussion questions for book clubs. On that note, if you do happen to choose How to Find Your Way Home for your book club, firstly, that would be amazing 🤩, thank you! And also, I would LOVE to know what you think, so please let me know/send me a photo of your book club buddies with the book.
